Subject: Chi'Ishi: an Okinawan proto-shovelglove

This was brought to my attention this morning:

http://www.shitoryu.org.uk/hojoundo.html

http://www.egka.org.uk/hojo_undo.htm

The translation, from what I gather, is: "strength
stone."

The guy who emailed me apparently constructed his own
out of the following ingredients:

dowel (width to taste)
nails (or picture hangers)
concrete
container (I like taco bell cups)

That's pretty hard core! We shovelglovers salute you.

I'll post mention of it on the homepage, but I figured
I'd give my loyal yahoo groupies a preview.
